About Nicholas Ramirez
Are you struggling with your personal, professional, or family life? More than likely, if you are suffering in one aspect of life, it is also affecting another. It is my goal as a therapist to assist clients in the process of resolving conflicts, and to achieve their own goals while maintaining a balanced healthy life. I have a solution-focused approach to counseling, and work collaboratively in order to achieve client success. My primary scope of practice is working with technology addiction, social isolation, and stress management for adults, teens, and children.
Technology is being integrated with every aspect of our lives. It is almost impossible to avoid the use of computers and cell phones in the modern world, and it is easy to understand how things can get out of control. My passion for helping people deal with technology addiction derived from my experience working in the video game industry. Technology addiction (specifically video game addiction) is a growing psychological epidemic, and it is sure to get worse as computer technologies become more advanced and continue to deliver new forms of entertainment. My goal as a therapist is not to get clients to abandon the activities they love, but to help develop a strategy for maintaining a more balanced and healthy life
Research that supports the notion that an individual’s mental health is directly correlated with the quality of their social relationships. The feeling of being alone is not a pleasant one; it can lead to depressed thoughts, low self-esteem, and low motivation. My goal as a therapist is to help clients analyze the quality of social relationships in their lives, and then develop a plan to improve those relationships, or develop new ones.
The modern world is complex to say the least, and is filled with a variety of stressors that continue to grow and evolve. The way we live is becoming increasingly faster, with a higher demand on professionals and students to produce more and more every year. Research shows that stress is one of the biggest components of an unsatisfactory life, and can lead to physical health problems as well as mental and social issues. My goal as a therapist is to help clients explore the stressors in their personal and professional lives, and then develop strategies for reducing those stressors, or eliminating them altogether.
Everyone needs somebody to talk to, who they can trust, and who will understand them.
